Me, The Old Man and the really old man(grandpa), are restoring his 1972 GMC 2500 longbox with 50000 original miles, a sought after model becasue in 1973 massive cost cutting measures at GM lowered quality of their entire truck division. Pretty much stripped everything down off the truck except the cab. Truck is going to get bodywork and new paint (two toned cherry red and white) fresh interior and fresh power hopefully coming from a big block gm performance parts engine matted to a three speed auto which is original. Was out at the farm sandblasting the frame, suspension components, axles, wheels and drivetrain in advance of it heading into paint and body. Rigged up a "mechanized lift" using a 1967 Massey Ferguson backhoe and some chain...it worked out. truck should be done mid summer and she'll look good!
Behind, look at the coil springs rather than leaf springs, That JUST came out on new model Dodge trucks
