Lots of Fish

The Recent Fraser River Sockeye Run Saw, Give or take a Few Million, 25 million fish return to spawn up the Fraser and its tribuaries, This is a record smashing year and the largest run of sockeye in the Fraser in 97 years, meaning huge numbers of Fraser River Sockeye salmon are back and with a vengence. No One predicted this run but it ended up happening, kindof funny that a government agency (Department Of Fisheries and Oceans) that has almost unlimited resources has No Idea how to measure or predict this stuff, kinda tells you how little they really know about the environment, maybe. This comes after a dismal return in 2009 when only 1.4 million fish returned and commercial fishing was closed completely except for native food fisheries...The healthy Natural return this year allowed for certain quotas of fish to be caught and sold, bringing economic benefit to BC, as well as a massive amount of fish that will return to spawn bringing hopefully a building block of more fish to be born and return to spawn down the line. Salmon have and amazing capacity to regenerate there numbers through Healthy runs and Healthy oceans and this kindof shows that i guess. Time will tell if this is a one time thing or if the numbers are returning year after year after decades of over fishing in the biggest salmon river in the world right in Vancouver's backyard.

P.S rando otherstuff

Some Recent Fish Caught in Alaska and at Sonora Island lodge off of Vancouver Island

1) 350 pound 8 foot halibut caught with a rod and reel, caught off the Barren Island in Alaska

2) 65 pound Tyee Spring caught off Sonora Island Lodge on the inside passage of Vancouver Island, It is a huge fish for the inside of Vancouver Island and maybe marks a return of this beast in that area which is good to see
